Miguel’s path has been…unusual. His career started in the music industry where he cut his teeth working with hustling music artists and venues. “My first job in the industry was with Van’s Warped Tour and one of my favorite bands growing up, Molotov. I was tapped to promote their show in St. Louis, Missouri. I had no real promotions experience, yet about 500 people actually showed up. Following the show, the entire band (pleasantly surprised about what I had just accomplished) packed into my tiny car; I drove them to Burger King and took them straight to the airport. I paid.”
Opportunities like this were not uncommon for Miguel, as the next few years would take him from biker rallies in North Dakota to the World Cup creating branded content and experiences. “I learned the value of being true to the human experience”. Although it could be hard to pinpoint an exact definition for what he did, Miguel could always be counted on to get the job done.
“I fell in love with the potential of creating something people would actually want.”
Over the last 15 years, Miguel has worked with leading companies such as Unilever, Pernod Ricard, ABInbev, Samsung and Fruit of the Loom. He also collaborated on several entrepreneurial projects ranging from product innovation to original content development. “I fell in love with the idea of creating something people would actually want.”
Today, Miguel is a creative entrepreneur focused on early-stage creative ventures and brand development projects, Miguel provides strategic and creative expertise for diverse business categories. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that sometimes, you have to build the plane while flying it. And these moments serve as the true stress test for your work.”
A Chicagoan at heart, he currently lives in San Francisco with his wife, Lauren; their dog, Valentina (named after his favorite hot sauce); his Gorillaz-obsessed son, Matteo; and newborn daughter, Isa.
